Combat has been altered to be seamless encounters that happen anywhere in the field. If well-cared for, they will occasionally find items and follow the protagonist. Players can raise multiple Tenko and give them names. The protagonist's spare inventory and setups can be accessed from chests scattered across the world map.Mahoroba Village serves as the game's new primary hub. Certain sections of the world map will be locked depending on the player's progression with the main story destinations may also be marked when fulfilling requests. Hunting grounds from previous games return with alterations. World exploration has shifted to be open world. They wandered into a dimensional portal during the fighting and emerged into the current setting as an amnesic at Mahoroba Village, a village west of Utakata that was surrounded by a mysterious power during the "Awakening". The protagonist for this game is a Slayer who fought in the defenses of the "Awakening". Somewhere within the world lies a dark secret and a giant threat from the Meiji period. Demons have engulfed all of Nakatsu Kuni with a peculiar miasma, and the Slayers are expected to combat the threat. Maybe once you try the weapons out, you can add to the list as well. This game's setting takes place two years after Kiwami. Those are the big ones off the top of my head, but I haven't played the first game in a while. Its sky swoop move no longer staggers, but its damage is improved dramatically. The stop thrust thing still seems clunky to use, but you can now unleash it in an attack and such. The new square charge/x charge attack is also a good way to use up some hyperstate.ī) Club's square charge/x charge attack is new and will instantly red hyperstate you if you hit the enemy with the tip on both strikes.Ĭ) Spear's dodge animation was cleaned up to be faster. The added new attacks on a lot of weapons are fairly useful.Ī) Naginata's parry is now a lot longer, so it's a lot easier to stay in the fight and parry hits all day basically. They did buff some weapons in minor but very significant ways. They also nerfed sniper bullets on the Rifle, but I heard you can still do decent with other bullets I don't have a lot of experience with the rifle though. So if you take someone you like with you and go kill stuff and do join operations, it should not take very long.Ĥ) They nerf'd the pure gouge build on the longsword because of Mitama abuse from Kiwami, but I'd say that longsword is still a perfectly balanced weapon. You seem to randomly gain trust with your current party members when you finish quests as well as when you kill giant monsters. That being said, ranged weapons will give you a pretty easy time until you hit midgame, because NPCs will adequately tank/distract monsters until then.Ī) Pair weapons like Club and Spear with "reduce charge rate" type skills for easy usage.ī) Pair heavy focus usage weapons like Knives, Chain whip, sickle, Naginata, Fist with either Precision + Precision to restore focus or Elemental damage and Elemental damage returns focus (Knowledge Absorb) skills.Ģ) Kuon, the shrine maiden next to your house, will allow you to choose 3 teammates for general roaming and side questing.ģ) It is a lot easier to gain trust. However, all weapons do not truly shine until you start messing with Mitamas. I've been switching to the Bow and spamming Circle + Triangle x3 on a SPD mitama in the meantime.Ģ: Is there a way to take certain teammates with you when you go outside the village when not on a mission? I have a quest for Benizuki (the one about strange noises at night luring children.yea.) and the only way I can find for taking her with me is on a mission.ģ: Is it easier to gain trust in this game? I remember in the first game it took an really long time to get soulmate rank (I think that was the highest) for the teammate specific weapons to the point I only got Oka, Hayatori and Nagi and gave up lolĤ: adding to 1, out of curiosity did they nerf or buff anything from the first game?ġ) I recommend trying out all the weapons in tutorial then out in the field. I also don't have the health to keep tanking boss hits when I'm still in a animation. 1: What's a good damage dealer for early game (as in, just now picking up Tsubaki, Manazuru and Kamuna early game)? I've been using the gauntlets and while strong for certain large oni, I don't like how they are way too slow and have no range for groups.
